Question Farming

Hey I started playing about a month ago, and finally got my Mes/Warrior to lvl 20, ascended, Droks and all that good stuff. Now I just need money...so I wish to know where to farm. Can someone please help me? Ive asked people in game, but they always say acronyms and I feel stupid asking what they mean. And when I try the trolls outside droks I so far have gotten almost nothing. 3 days and 1 Purple Axe...so someone please help me? Please?

With the latest update a lot of the more popular places to farm are no longer productive. You'll just have to do like the rest of us and go exploring for good new places to farm.

Updates...great for the new things they bring (Like the new quest location thing, brilliant idea, love it, now I can see where I'm eventually going to end up rather than running from a place waaay in the wrong direction when I coulda gone like 2mins out of a different outpost) but bad for anyone who settles into a routine of farming.
Alas, just have a look around, find places that have foes that suit your build and are easy to kill. Any enemy that you can kill in mass will get you far more than foes that take a long time to kill but have better drops. For e.g Mesmers are a warriors nightmare, so naturally they will look for places that do not involve fighting mesmers =]

I use my mesmer for all of my farming, sometimes using group builds and solo farming with Avarre's 55 Mesmer build. There are a few other mesmer farming builds in the mesmer forum here that I'm going to try out soon as well, but 55 is probably the easiest solo build to use. I'm fairly new to farming myself, but after some practice the runs go much quicker. (Read: More money for the time spent farming!)

For a mesmer primary, it's very cheap to set up 55 gear, just get yourself a set of the cheapest enchanters armor or collectors armor and buy the mesmer superior runes from the rune trader. Armor and runes should run you less than 1.5K, then all you need is a sword or axe of some sort and the -50hp offhand, which you can buy for 1-2K in Ascalon City if you hang around long enough or just get for free from the Cities of Ascalon quest. You'll also need a monk secondary with all of the required skills, but total setup cost is still much less than the cost of one monk superior rune.

For farming locations, you can easily solo 55 the hyrda outside of augury rock and the trolls outside of droknars. I find that doing the full hydra loop will give you 1-2K at least after sales, not a big fan of the trolls. Trolls are popular because the run is easily automated I think, but its a very short run and the drops really aren't that great. With a Spiteful Spirit (SS) necromancer, a few platinum and a little practice, the underworld is very doable as well. The sand drakes are not as profitable as the other locations, but they're great to learn the build with.

You may want to try group farming as well, a pure mesmer with a SS necromancer and monk can farm Khepket Marrowfeast outside of Augury Rock very effectively, I usually just use a domination build focused against monks, no specific elite skills required. It's easy to find groups for this, and the scarabs give some fairly decent drops. You'll also go much faster than any Warrior, Minion Master (MM) and Monk team I've seen on that run. If you can find a good minion master and a sacrificial lamb, you can run a fast cast mesmer in a minion factory. It's a little hard to put together unless you have friends, but it easily plows through Sorrow's Furnace (and potentially, just about anywhere) with only three people and minimal effort. With a little hunting, you can get a group in Tomb of Primeval Kings to let a mesmer in for green farming, which can be worthwhile even without green drops.

That's nowhere near all the possible mesmer farming options, but I've managed to get most of my gold this way. Feel free to pm me in game if you want to swap notes.

Mesmer isn't the most farm-friendly of classes, but there are some uses.

eh IIRC, there aren't even any charr outside ascalon unless they're part of a quest/mission X.x

The only monsters I remember being out there are those wannabe mergoyles, walking rocks and roach annoyances

right?
